SHOP RIMMEL LONDON
Rimmel London has recently, can I say recently if it’s been over a month, probably not but lets go with it, recently featured here on Miss Shan Louise and like my previous post today’s is in collaboration with the guys over at Influenster UK who kindly gifted me a box of Rimmel beauty bits in celebration of the Breathable foundation and concealer launching.
Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation
I am yet to try the original version of this light weight foundation but I have tried a number of their other foundations before, therefore I’m unofficially declaring myself as a ‘mediocre professional Rimmel foundation reviewer‘ for the sake of this post! So the first thing that I noticed with this bottle is that once you unscrew the lid, you actually pull out a huge spongey applicator, you know the ones you normally apply your concealer with? Imagine that, maybe 3x as big and that’s how you apply this foundation! At first I was a little taken back by it, because I just wasn’t used to applying my foundation that way. But after about a week of using it, I think I actually prefer it! I found that I use less product and it makes building the coverage up so much easier, as I like to add a couple of thin layers to achieve a more flawless look, rather than adding a thick cakey layer in one go and then trying to blend it out.
I find adding one layer is the perfect amount for day to day when I want something a little more lightweight and believe it or not but, BREATHABLE too! Wearing the foundation wouldn’t be enough coverage for me personally as I don’t touch up my base products during the day, so adding the matching concealer with it provides that little bit more coverage that my under eyes desperately need in the mornings. Not only is this foundation…
“Enriched with breathable skin technology and moisturise for up to 25 hours” but it also has SPF 20!
Lasting Finish Breathable Concealer
“Lightweight breathable formula helps to conceal imperfections”
Again, when I first opened up this squeezey tube of concealer, I wasn’t met with what I had originally expected but instead a little spongey ball at the end of the tube that when you squeezed the tube the concealer could come out of! I find the coverage is enough to brighten up my under eyes whilst covering up any blemishes that I have! What I love most about this concealer though, is the fact that I don’t need to set it with a powder as it doesn’t at all crease on me… total WIN.
“Cushion applicator allows for perfect blend ability and touch ups on the go”
Rimmel London Kate Sculpting Palette – 002 Coral Glow
So this isn’t actually apart of the breathable range, although it was included in the VoxBox so I thought it would only be write to talk about it too. I had previously seen quite a lot of hype about this trio by Rimmel and Kate Moss, but never managed to get round to trying it out for myself, so when I saw that this was included, I was not at all disappointed! The highlight in this palette is pretty subtle for what I’m used to, but now that I’m into more minimal makeup looks on the daily, it has become a very well loved product! When using the highlighter, its like adding a shine to your cheek bones rather than a stark glittery shimmer – which I’m totally down for! Shade 2 in this trio is the contour shade, it’s not my absolute favourite powder that Ive used as its quite warm toned and doesn’t go with my skin tone that well, but the quality of the overall product I’m pretty impressed with! The 3rd and final shade is the blush, again it is a little too pink for me personally, as I prefer something a little more subtle, but when applied with a light hand it adds a lovely pop to the cheeks!
Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick – Vintage Pink
I adore a nude lip, berry lip, red lip, any lipstick really as long as it doesn’t dry out my lips… and doesn’t need topping up a million times a day… and doesn’t end up all around my face after eating my lunch! Although the shade certainly is not for me, the formula of this most defiently is! It applies so easily and doesn’t bleed at all, so although I won’t be getting the most out of this lipstick myself, I will be out of the moisture renew range! I already have my eye on Notting Hill Nude!
That’s all for now, see you in the next one!
